... to realize how amazing Orting actually is. I have been all over the country, and nowhere compares to Orting. When I think about every other place I have visited: the beauty of Auburn, the pretty "mountains" in Georgia, the huge green fields in Florida... none come close to Orting. I looked out the window babysitting tonight, as the sun was going down, and the mountain was GIGANTIC. It had some dusty clouds near the base of it, but the rest was clear against a pink and blue background. It was amazing. Where else can you find that? The trees lining the trail into town are starting to get buds on them, indicating an even more beautiful season is on its way... spring. Spring in Orting is perfect. The smell of freshly cut grass fills the air, which is a perfect jeans and t-shirt temperature. You can see all the baseball and fastpitch and track teams practicing as you drive into town, and the trail is decorated with bikers, rollerbladers, joggers, and dog-walkers. The trees are all bright and blooming, on the golf course, in town, everywhere. Everywhere you go, you can hear the birds and kids playing outside. And the river is finally starting to warm up [from icy to almost tolerable] for summer rafting and tubing. ITS WONDERFUL. And I am not exaggerating. It may sound like a scene from Wisteria Lane on Desperate Housewives, but its not. Its better. And the best part is showing it off to people who have never been here before. Last year when Kristen came to visit, I couldn't wait to show her everything around town. And although Mt. Rainier hid behind cloudy skies for a few days, it came out just in time for Kristen to see it before she left. I love love love love it here.
