Today Sydnee and I braved the sidewalks of Village Green to go "ant stomping." I was new to this, but Syd is a professional. We went up and down the block stomping ants everywhere. It was a great experience. Try it sometime!!!
When I was about four I think, or maybe five, I started going to Sunday School. I thought I was SO cool because I was in the kindergarten class... but I wasn't in kindergarten yet [for some reason I was in a class older in Sunday School my entire sunday school life, and Jarvis usually threatened to tell everyone that really I was only a 1st grader, not a 2nd grader, or a 2nd grader not really and 3rd grader, and so...which always freaked me out]. Anyway my first day ever, age four [or five]... I remember we had a story about stone soup. I don't remember the story at all. I probably wasn't listening because thats just the kind of kid I was. I just remember we actually made a stone soup, and that upset me for two reasons. One I hated soup, and two I didn't get the stone in mine, so in my mind, I lost. A couple years later, I was in 1st grade [really kindergarten], and we were talking about how Jesus healed a blind man. The teacher had us close our eyes and imagine being blind. I thought I was really smart...and really I was. When she said... "When you are blind, everything is black...you can't see anything." I said, " Actually, if I look towards the window, its more of a red from the sun...so you CAN see SOMETHING." That same year the church offered free daycare for a saturday so moms could go Christmas shopping without the kids. I was so mad that I was not in the same room as my brother... I think I cried the entire day [helping in Chaseplace has shown me that a lot of kids do that, so I feel the four year olds pain when her brother is goign into the nursery or her sister is heading down the hall towards Amanda's class :) ]. Other memories included playing hot potato with a plastic piggy bank. The same piggy bank that halfway through the game hit my in the lip and made me get a bloody lip on my favorite dress. My first reaction to blood on my finger that I wiped from my mouth was to cry [come on, I was six. All six year olds cry]. Then it was to never, EVER come back again. I remember going into the little bathroom under the stairs to clean my lip, and the one girl that I feared most in my entire sunday school class came to help me. I was usually kind of intimidated by everyone in my class... mainly because I was younger and they were older and probably smarter and definetly cooler. Anyway her name was Kirsten, and I could not believe she was helping me! My entire life [six years] I was afraid of her. But when I was crying and my lip was bleeding she was the first to jump up and help. I don't really know what my point is. I guess maybe it is that just because someone is older and seems smarter and cooler and everything, doesn't mean that you have to be scared of them. In my case, they can be really nice and helpful when you least expect it.

So that is the site I have been camping at for the past three days. To the right is the back of our camper, and to the left is probably our family's closest friends', the Johnsons', truck and trailor. You can't see it, but just one site up is the Johnsons' brother and family, and down farther is Team Extreme [four guys and their families that make up a snowmobile club]. You can also see Moose, the Johnsons' dog. Of all 8 years I have been camping at this golf course, I'd have to say this trip was the best. Usually one of the kids from each family brings at least one friend, sometimes more. This year it was strictly the Maki's and the Johnson's. Its always fun [ Amanda, Katy, and Jon have all come with us... they would know], but its good to be with just family. I missed hanging out with all the Johnson boys [Yes I am the only girl among about 6 boys including Jarvis... but they are all younger than me by a lot], when I bring friends, we end up kind of doing our own thing. I also got a chance to hang out with the Team Extreme girls [ the moms and their two daughters and neice who are all three about 10 years old.] We went to a waterpark in town that I didn't even know existed... and it was AWESOME.
Now... I must explain the little bit of background behind ourselves, the Johnsons, and Team Extreme... it all has to do with snowmobiling, and since this was the WSSA [Washington State snowmobile Association] Golf Tournement, now would be a good time. A long time ago... my Dad, Jim Johnson, and his brother Dan Johnson started a snowmobile club called Hi Country Beelers [I think it sounds like a hick name but oh well thats what its called]. It still exists... but sometime about 5 years ago a few of the guys thought they were too great of riders for our club and started their own... hence Team Extreme. Now,I must say,for being old-ish guys... they are pretty hardcore snowmobilers. Anyways there is this friendly sort of rivalry that goes on between the two clubs... and being together camping for a weekend was quite an experience.
Team Extreme has been trying to recruit my brother [who they call Jay], for a quite a while now. They usually tell him that my dad is too old, and that he is meant to be in Team Extreme. The WSSA has a magazine type thing that goes out every month. Any snowmobile club can write in and their article will be put in. Team Extreme once had one that Jay was goign against his family and switching sides. That kind of joking happens a lot. They also get a little crazy... like stealing our golf carts and driving them around the golf course [this happens at home too]. Usually it is pretty funny though. As for the Hi Country Beelers [grr I really don't like that name], it was a pretty relaxing weekend. Hanging out at night at our campgorun was the best, especially on Saturday, when Wylie, Axel, Chevy, and Blazer tried to convince the dads to let them drive to Othello [ the next town ] to get Taco Bell. First off Wylie, who is the oldest, is only 15, so he can't drive. Second, it was like 11PM. And third, there isn't even a Taco Bell in Othello. They still convinced the dads, and had them talking about Chalupa's and Cheesy Gordida Crunches all night long.
Unlike the last weekend I stayed in Moses Lake, I have about 1200 bug bites. If Amanda and Farah have sweet skin... then mine is EXTRA sweet. I put on so much bug spray... and I still got so many bites, mainly on my feet and legs. Luckily they are not itching at the moment!!! The heat was the same... about 98 degrees on Saturday afternoon [we were thankfully at the waterpark]. I probably had about 20 otter pops that day!!!
To wrap it all up, I really enjoyed this vacation. But I can say that nothing beats being at home with the AC on and no bugs in sight!!!!
There is this song on my CD that is so lame... but so true. Too bad I'm too lame to even say what the song is. Or what its about. But I just had to say that.
More to blog about later. I just can't put a whoel bunch of thoughts together at the moment. I'm kind of lazy. :]
Some exciting highlights of the week:
1. Babysat.
A. Ate popsicles... which somehow I got Saige sized handprints of popsicle on my jeans.
B. Helped Lucas play this math game which I am completely horrible at. The asteroid things go way too fast.
C. Hid from the monsters!!!
2. Saw the movie Click.
A. It was really funny at first.
B. Then it got REALLY sad.
C. Katy cried. And Dylan breathes REALLY loud.
3. Had some strange phone conversations.
A. I got a call with the song Ms New Booty playing... almost the whole song. That song inspired me and Amanda to become rappers and take over the world. Longgg story. :)
B. I called Dylan last night and I can't remember why... and he called back at 7:50 AM!!! Yeah so it definetly woke me up.
C. I talked to Dax... and I couldn't understand him very well, but he did say that he was going swimming. And when I asked him if I could come visit he said YES!!!
I spent this weekend in Moses Lake with my family [and Amanda O.]. We have stayed at this golf course every June for 7 years so my dad can play in an annual golf tournemet. A lot of our family friends go too, and most of them have kids. Its basically the coolest event of the year, and luckily this year we get to do it twice! [ We're going back for a different tournement, same people, in July].
Anyways... Amanda and I spengt the entire weekend laying by the pool, jumping in every 15 or so minutes to cool off. Amanda turned completely red on her front side... her legs matched my shorts!!! Thankfully I tan pretty easily, so I escaped teh redness. When the heat got to be too much [ sometime Sunday afternoon when the car temperature read 98], we headed for the Air Conditioned camper to watch movies.
Every night we choked on all the bug spray we put on, and Amanda STILL got bit. At least twice. We sat around in a whole nuch of chairs by our snowmobile trailor... and all the adults just talked about random stuff. We also have this bean bag toss game that Amanda and I pretty own at. We beat Jarvis and Chevy. But Chevy is pretty good, he beat my dad. And my dad plays a lot.
So I think the best part was probably last night... Almost everyone went home except us and the Johnsons. My dad and Jim [Johnson] and Jarvis and Wylie [Johnson], went golfing [ once it cooled down to about 90 ], and we all went along and watched. Jarvis is kind of obsessed with Bob Marley for some reason, so the entire time they were golfing we had Bob Marley on the Golf Cart stereo. I also drove Amanda and I through the sprinklers... and when we got done, we went for a late night swim. We had dinner at 10... which is late but it was cool enough to start up the barbeque. It was probably the best dinner I've ever had, just because I was so hungry [ hot dogs, caesar salad, PASTA... I don't remember what else].
Now we are finally home and what do you know... its just as hot in Western Washington as it is in Eastern Washington. Oh well. I like it.
This past week has been a pretty great way to start off the summer break. It started Monday... babysitting Mackenzie and Saige. We watched Spongebob [for the 4th time... its great!], colored pictures, and of course, played in the creek. I may sound like a little kid, but the creek is so fun. Except there's this green stuff in it and it really grosses me and Mackenzie out. Even more when Mackenzie splashes me with the greenish water. Then after we were done babysitting, we [ Amanda Talicia and I ] began our house sitting adventure. But first we went on a driving mission. We were looking for the drive-ins, which we never found. Instead we got lost a couple times, had Wired energy drinks, which made us extremely hyper, and chased by these Mexicans who wanted Talicia's number. Its been pretty great, considering we have a whole house to ourselves, and the cutest guard dog ever. Okay so maybe he is a just a puppy but still... Chase is great. Tuesday we had a movie night, which included us three and Katy. We planned on watching Big Fish and Forrest Gump, but were too tired. Instead we watched Big Fish until 12:00AM, so we could tell Talicia happy birthday, and then went to sleep. We ended up watcing the movie the next morning. On Wednesday for Talicia's birthday, Me and Amanda made her a cake. Then we went to Red Robin with Lauren and had an amazing dinner before goign to the drive-ins. yes we actually found them this time, but the sound didn't work, so we missed most of the first movie, and slept through the second one. It was still a blast! That has pretty much been consuming our whole week, but today I got to hang out with Gene and Jess, then Dylan. Talicia and I met Gene and Jess up on Bonney Lake so Jess could get some work clothes. Gene of course tried on skirts and some cowboy boot type things. Talicia and I also saw the shoes that are kind of like Crocs... which we need to get. But they weren't the same. It was entertaining. Then in Target Talicia and I lost Gene and Jessica, but had our own adventures around the store. Most of them made us think of Farah [ you wouldn't get it... trust me ]. Then once we found Jessica and Gene, we got in a conditioner fight [sort of]. I was holding it to smell it and Gene went to squeeze the bottle but I moved it just in time to get only a tiny bit in my hair, but a ton all over Talicia's jacket. At least we smelled good right? Then we went back to my house [ me and Talicia], and Dylan came over. He pretty much ate all out food. Actually he DID eat all our food, but there wasn't much there since it is all packed to go camping. For some reason Dylan was on his laptop in the kitchen while Talicia and I looked at Volkswagon Vans in teh office... and we had a conversation on INstant Messenger... even though we were one room away from each other, and could hear the other person typing. Lame I know... but it was fun. Now T and I are just chilling up at the house, which is all clean and nice. Tomorrow I am heading out for Moses Lake with Amanda... which is going to be SWEEET. I am so excited. I'll write all about it when we get back. :]]
PS- Sorry if there are spelling errors... I am too tired to correct them and the spell check is blocked on this computer for some reason?
Instead of being all mushy [which I could totally do :) ], I am going to say a little sweet story about each Isbell, because everyone seems to be writing about them. Actually its more of a memory with each person. Anyway... onward:
The High Fiver aka David: OKay so I have two memories for you. The first one: mudding with Justin and Dylan. Driving up that one hill in the jeep, then satnding up there watching Justin try 500 times was the best. It won't be the same without you [if we ever go again]]. The second one: driving to or from Birmingham... it was night and I finally got to ride up front. We were listening to Third Day on the Ipod and I remember everyone was singing. Especially Cameron because he was sitting right behind me so it was right in my ear. Anyways you kinda looked over and asked, "Does it feel like we're going 80?" It was pretty fun. Those times totally make up for you pushing me off a rock in Cannon Beach, and for making me cry on the airplane.
The Hugger aka Farah: My memory with you is actually on the day I found out you guys were moving. That afternoon, after you guys came home with Dax all stitched up, was pretty much amazing. We watched Chicken Little with Dax, who told me not to close my eyes. Then you spelled out this...Y-o-u c-a-n c-l-o-s-e y-o-u-r e-y-e-s i-f y-o-u w-a-n-t b-e-c-a-u-s-e t-h-e-n D-a-x w-i-l-l s-l-e-e-p. I can't believe I actually followed you and your speed spelling. Then once Dax and Cole were sleeping, we layed on the sloor and listened to Rascal Flatts, then we watched Big Fish and just talked and hung out. I have so many more amazing memories with you... but that one stands out the most.
The Pound-it Kid aka Dax: Well I know you can't read, and like Megan said in her blog... hopefully your mom will read this too you. I have endless memories with you, babysitting you, going on trips with you, and watching you run around in Chaseplace. You tell me the funniest things, and I love it when you flex your muscles [You must be pretty strong]. But the best memory was on the last Sunday you were here. I was leaving Chaseplace and like always said, "Bye Dax, I love you!" Usually you just keep on playing... or wave. But this time you said, "I love you too!" I was so happy. That is one of the best ever. Another quick good memory is when you were asking your mom if you could say Roll Tide. You're hilarious.
The Spitter-upper aka Baby Cole: I know you're only a baby, but I hope this memory doesn't embarass you. We were in Alabama and it was super hot out. I am pretty sure it was the first day we were there, and your mom dropped you off at Chris and Trudie's house for us to watch you. I don't think you adjusted to the heat very well, because you were so sweaty!!! So we took off your shirt to wash it and dry it, and sat with you in the living room. You pretty much had endless rolls, but it was the cutest thing ever. Don't worry, Dax's chubbiness went away, and I'm sure yours will too pretty soon :].
The Licker aka Faith: I didn't know you even existed for the first year I knew David and Farah. But once I saw you, I couldn't help but let you out whenever I was babysitting. I don't have a memory with you, but I like you.
